The show takes its inspiration in the stress of everyday life through humorous and paradoxical use of familiar objects. The dancers move about in a strictly urban set and use / face its codes in a growing tension which eventually gets solved in a cheerful madness. Little by little, the space at first constraining, becomes extremely playful. We find in this piece Blanca Li’s specific energy as well as her taste for derision. Dance plays the lead part but the choreographer borrows as many things as she can from other worlds, which makes out of “Stress” a highly unclassifiable show.
